Dylan Genzman, boys golf

OREGON – Dylan Genzman had his driver working Tuesday.

The senior not only shot the low round of the day for the Ross boys golf team at the Clay-hosted TRAC Shootout, his 86 was also the team’s lowest score of the season.

“Every time I saw him he hit the driver extremely well,” coach Jim Scharer said. “Every time I saw him he was hitting good shots.”

As a team, the Little Giants totaled a 412 as Zane Rusch shot a 99, Braxton White added a 113 and Owen Smith and Cole Druckenmiller each shot a 114. Scharer said Ross’ total was 36 shots better than it was last year at Maumee Bay golf course.

“Zane braking 100 there, first time seeing the course, is a good performance,” Scharer said. “Braxton White shot a 124 there (previously), he shot a 113 this year, an 11-shot improvement.

“Through two TRAC events, we’re 77 shots better than we were last year, that’s almost 20 shots a man per round, which is pretty good,” he added.

Tuesday kicked off a stretch of three events in three days, with a dual match against Lake Wednesday at Chippewa Golf Course.
