FOSTORIA – It’s funny what a little confidence will do for you.

Zane Rusch
Fremont Ross senior golfer Zane Rusch closed out his round Tuesday on a strong note, scoring back-to-back pars to save a round in the 40s.
Wednesday, he picked up where he left off, hitting the ball well and playing a solid all-around game leading the Little Giants with a low-round of 42 on their way to a duel match win over Fostoria, 186-200.
“I think his confidence is very good,” Ross coach Jim Scharer said. “He’s starting to hit his driver now. He was afraid to hit his driver before and he’s starting to hit his driver now and hopefully that will pan out to some better second-shot opportunities with lower irons to hit it in there closer.”
Also scoring for Ross was Cole Druckenmiller, who scored 45, Braxton White carded a 47 and Luke O’Brien scored a 52. The round marks the second consecutive day the Little Giants broke 200 over nine holes.
“We got under 190, which is good. Now our next goal is to get under 180. Hopefully, one day we can do that,” Scharer said.
