FREMONT – The score may have been lopsided, but that doesn’t mean the Fremont Ross coaches didn’t like what they saw from the Lady Giant soccer team.
Hosting Three Rivers Athletic Conference leader Oregon Clay, the Lady Giants battled to the end in an 8-0 defeat by the Eagles.
“The girls played hard and strong and never gave up,” co-head coach Emma Schratt said. “We had a few opportunities from Ashtyn (Schneider), trying to cross it, but couldn’t find each other enough to get a shot.
“Defense with Reagan and Lauren Reau, Jelena (Burns) and Kendra (Smith) did a great job pushing the other team offside, limiting Clay having more opportunities to shoot.”
The loss drops Ross’ overall record to 6-6-2 and 1-3-2 in the TRAC.
Ross is back in action Monday as it hosts Bowling Green at 5 p.m.
