SANDUSKY – When a program is building itself back up, the goal is to make those steps to show improvement is being made.
The Fremont Ross volleyball team took one of those steps Monday night.
The Lady Giants defeated rival Sandusky in straight sets, 25-20, 28-26, 25-18, to clinch an improved record from a year ago. The victory raises Ross’ record to 7-14 overall, better than last season’s 6-win campaign.
“(Sandusky) played with a lot of energy but our defense held up,” said first-year coach Lindi Cahill. “Kelsey Weickert and Emily Miller both did a great job taking care of the ball in the back row.”
The Lady Giant freshman and JV teams also won in straight sets over the Blue Streaks.
Ross returns to action Thursday when it hosts Oregon Clay, varsity starting approximately 7:30.
