The Lady Giants soccer team kicked off their 2024 season with a commanding 4-0 victory over Sandusky on Friday night at Don Paul Stadium. Senior Zoe Kaczmarek led the charge with two goals, while her younger sister, Victoria Kaczmarek, and Malise Lee-Garrett each added to the tally in a dominant display.
Zoe Kaczmarek opened the scoring in the first half, giving the Lady Giants an early lead. Her younger sister, Victoria, followed up shortly after with a well-taken goal, putting the home team firmly in control before halftime.
In the second half, Zoe Kaczmarek struck again, widening the Lady Giants lead to 3. Malise Lee-Garrett then sealed the victory with a goal of her own.
The defense, anchored by goalkeepers Aniya McNeal and Danika Denman, was rock solid throughout the match, ensuring Sandusky never threatened the shutout. Their flawless performance in goal preserved the clean sheet and securing the win.
Tonight’s victory was particularly special as it marked the first for new head coach Ashton Smith, who will be pleased with his team’s performance as they begin the season on a high note. The Lady Giants will look to build on this success as they continue their campaign. The Lady Giants return to action on Monday, as they host Rivervalley. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00.
