The boys’ and girls’ golf teams teed off earlier this week in sectional play, both finishing 8th in their respective competitions, securing spots in the district tournament for their top performers.
The Lady Giants shot a combined score of 409, placing 8th out of 14 teams. Leading the way was senior standout Lyndi Wolf, who delivered an impressive round of 89. Her stellar performance earned her a coveted berth in next week’s district tournament, where she’ll look to continue her strong play.
Supporting Wolf’s effort were Brenah Parker, who posted a solid round of 99, Olivia Anstead with a 103, and Riley Halbeisen, who finished with a 117.
On the boys’ side, the team fired a competitive 352, also landing in 8th place. Senior Robert Rich led the charge for the Giants, shooting an 82, which secured his place in next week’s district competition. Brandon Fry trailed by six strokes, carding an 86, followed by Parker Brown with a 90 and Quinn Wolf with a 92.
With both teams represented at districts, hopes remain high for further postseason success. All eyes will be on Wolf and Rich as they compete next week in what is sure to be an exciting conclusion to the season.
