OREGON – The Fremont Ross Lady Giants basketball team escaped Clay with a hard-fought 36-32 victory on Thursday night, keeping their Northern Lakes League (NLL) championship hopes alive.
In a low-scoring affair, both teams found themselves deadlocked at halftime, exchanging buckets in a tightly contested first two quarters. However, the Lady Giants came out strong in the second half, jumping to an early lead that they never relinquished. Despite Clay’s persistent efforts, Ross held firm down the stretch to preserve the win.
Lyndi Wolf proved to be the difference-maker, pouring in a game-high 18 points, while Ava Jones, despite early foul trouble, added 11 crucial points for the Lady Giants.
With the win, Fremont Ross moves to 9-9 overall and 8-1 in NLL play, maintaining their position in the league title race. Up next, the Lady Giants face a tough test as they travel to Magnificat for a Saturday matinee matchup.
