The Fremont Ross girls wrestling team is heading to the State Finals after a commanding showing in the regional competition, securing decisive victories over Vermillion and Findlay. The Lady Giants showcased their depth and talent, overpowering both opponents to continue their postseason run.
In their opening match, Fremont Ross took down Vermillion 48-30, with key victories from Malaya Hughes, Kailani Long, Kylee Johnson, Jocelyn Butler, Zoe Kaczmarek, Jaiden Long, Brooklyn Koebel, and Keyonna Vann. The Lady Giants controlled the match from start to finish, setting the tone for the rest of the day.
Their momentum carried into the second match, where they delivered an emphatic 57-24 win over Findlay. Dominating the mat, the Lady Giants picked up victories from Kailani Long, Nayeli Vasquez, Adelynne Scherer, Soledad Resendez, Brooklyn Koebel, Keyonna Vann, Tamia Bounds, Malaya Hughes, Jocelyn Butler, and Jaiden Long.
With these back-to-back victories, Fremont Ross now turns its attention to the State Finals in Marysville this Saturday. Before making the trip, they will sharpen their skills in a friendly dual against Carey on Wednesday.
