FREMONT – The Fremont Ross Lady Giants closed out their regular season with a hard-fought battle against Sandusky but ultimately fell short, losing 70-67.

From the opening tip, the game was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams exchanging buckets and leads on nearly every possession. Neither side was able to create much separation, keeping the intensity high throughout.

Heading into the fourth quarter, the Lady Giants trailed by just two points but quickly closed the gap. They managed to take a slim lead midway through the period, only to see Sandusky reclaim control in the closing minutes. With under two minutes to play, the Bluestreaks put together a key scoring run, extending their lead to seven points late in the fourth.

Despite a valiant effort from the Lady Giants down the stretch, their comeback attempt fell just short. The loss marked the final home game for seniors Maylin DeWalt, Jazmin Heidelburg, Lanae’ Tucker, and Lyndi Wolf.

With the regular season now behind them, the Lady Giants will have a week to prepare for their postseason run. They are set to face Toledo Start in the opening round of the playoffs at Lake High School on February 19.
