The Fremont Ross boys tennis team kicked off their season with a tough matchup against Northern Lakes League powerhouse Anthony Wayne on Monday, ultimately falling 4-1 in a highly competitive contest.
Despite the final score, the Little Giants battled hard on every court, showing resilience and determination against one of the area’s top programs. Leading the way for Fremont Ross was the duo of Zach Bishop and Logan Wensinger, who secured the team’s lone point at #2 doubles. After dropping the first set 1-6, the pair regrouped and fought back to win the next two sets 6-2, 6-4, displaying impressive composure under pressure.
Another closely contested match came at #3 singles, where Charlie Kramer pushed his opponent to the limit in a thrilling three-set showdown. Kramer took the first set 6-3 before Anthony Wayne’s player responded with a 6-2 win in the second. The decisive third set was a back-and-forth battle, but Kramer ultimately fell just short, 5-7.
The remaining Fremont Ross players gave strong efforts against a talented Anthony Wayne squad, proving that the Little Giants have plenty of fight as they embark on the 2025 season.
