Findlay, OH — In a classic pitcher’s duel on Thursday night, the Fremont Ross Little Giants found just enough offense to come away with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Findlay Trojans.
The win, powered by stellar pitching and a timely hit, moves Fremont Ross to 6-4 on the season and keeps momentum on their side heading into a busy week ahead.
The only run of the game came in the top of the fifth inning when Cade Reineck laced a single to bring home Robert Rich, who had reached base earlier in the frame. That clutch hit proved to be the difference as both teams struggled to string together much offense.
The Little Giants scattered a handful of hits throughout the day, but it was right-hander Cam Joseph who stole the spotlight. Joseph turned in a masterful complete-game performance, allowing just two hits and striking out nine Findlay batters. His command on the mound and ability to work out of tight spots kept the Trojans off balance all evening.
With four games scheduled for next week, the Little Giants are hoping to ride this momentum and continue stacking wins as the season heats up.
