FREMONT – The Fremont Ross Little Giants boys tennis team rolled to a dominant 5-0 win over Sylvania Northview in Northern Lakes League action last Thursday, blanking the Wildcats and improving their season record to 6-2.
The Little Giants came out strong across the board, sweeping all three singles matches in straight sets. Cole Kinsey led the way at No. 1 singles, overcoming a tight first set to defeat his opponent 7-5, 6-0. At No. 2 singles, Jack Swinehart cruised to a convincing 6-1, 6-1 win, while Carson Lewis completed the sweep at No. 3 singles with a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
In doubles play, the Little Giants faced stiff resistance but held firm. The No. 1 duo of Zach Bishop and Charlie Kramer battled back after dropping the first set, rallying for a thrilling 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-1 win. Meanwhile, the No. 2 team of Chase Culbertson and Logan Wensinger edged out a tight two-set match, 7-5, 7-5, to cap the team shutout.
The Little Giants will return to the courts this evening as they host Tiffin Columbian. Tonight’s matchup also marks Senior Night, as Fremont Ross honors the contributions and leadership of its senior players. First serve is set for later this afternoon.
